A corporate broker's sole licensed officer forgets the 2027 triennial status report. CBP sends the notice of suspension by certified mail on Monday, March 15, 2027. By what date must the report be filed and the fee paid for the license to be reinstated?
19 CFR 111.30(d)(4): a license not reported by March 1 is suspended by operation of law; if the broker files the report and pays the fee within 60 calendar days of the date of the notice of suspension, the license is reinstated. Sixty calendar days from Monday, March 15, 2027 is Friday, May 14, 2027. March 31 is CBP's deadline for sending the notice, not the broker's deadline. If the 60 days pass, the license is revoked by operation of law. Source: 19 CFR 111.30(d)(4) (eCFR, as at 7 Oct 2026).
Counting the 60 days from March 1, the suspension date, instead of from the date of CBP's notice.
