A licensed broker joins a CBP webinar on entry summary data that runs continuously for 75 minutes. How many continuing education credits may she claim for it?
19 CFR 111.1 defines the continuing education credit: the smallest unit is half a credit for 30 minutes of continuous participation, and half a credit may be claimed for every full 30 minutes after that. A 75-minute session holds two full 30-minute blocks, so 1 credit; the extra 15 minutes earn nothing. 1.25 credits divides minutes by 60, and 1.5 credits needs a full 90 minutes. Training CBP offers needs no accreditation (111.103(a)(1)(i)). Source: 19 CFR 111.1 (continuing education credit), 111.103(a)(1)(i) (eCFR, as at 7 Oct 2026).
Dividing the minutes by 60 instead of counting full 30-minute blocks.
