An importer brings in industrial valves solely for use in its own factory, not for sale in any form. Must the valves be marked with country of origin?
19 CFR 134.32(f) excepts from marking articles imported for use by the importer and not intended for sale in their imported or any other form. Their containers must still be marked to show origin unless another exception applies (subpart C). Value is not the test. Source: 19 CFR 134.32(f) (eCFR, as at 7 Oct 2026).
Thinking every imported article needs marking.
